67. Report - Old Women and Beauty

In Rajasthan I see Western-dressed tourists for the first time since the Corona lockdown. Most of them are a bit older, which can be seen from their poorly covered body parts, which they flaunt openly. After three years I even find it funny to see old men in shorts. It may be convenient for them. But, frankly, it doesn't look pretty, dignified, or appropriate.

Western tourists in a different culture
What strikes me about western women is that none of them have long hair, as is customary in India. Their hairstyles are similar to those of men and the hair is mostly without shine. Hardly anyone in the group wears a colorful or bright piece of clothing, most of it looks colorless.

However, I also discover some Indians copying the Western style. If they're young and beautiful, that looks good on them too. But if they are older or a bit fat or not so beautiful, it will not look aesthetic.

My summary: With Western clothing you can see what is not so beautiful on a person's body (even an expensive brand doesn't help). - In traditional Indian clothing such as sarees, disadvantages are elegantly concealed; the traditional dress makes even fat, old or less beautiful people look dignified.

Here pictures for comparison:
Traditional Indian clothing versus western-modern style.

Old  indian weak women in Sari

Old  european women with short hair and trousers.

Woman (middle age), open style - ???
Woman (middle age) in a sari - still dignified
