  The first German I meet at Frankfurt Airport is an Italian. He lives here since a long time and his German is almost perfect. He got my passport and the accompanying documents from the stewardess and has to take me to the immigration office. On the way there we talk about the best topic to start a conversation with someone in Germany: weather! It's cold and damp in Frankfurt, almost 0 degrees. A perfect weather to catch a cold. I only wear the thin clothes from India. The Italian security man says that since he got the corona vaccinations, he has been sick much more often than before. The journey with the two police officers in buses and trains takes 24 hours. There is friendly respect for each other. At the airport in New Delhi, they hand me over to the immigration officers. The farewell is very formal. But the new officials are friendly too. They are less respectful of the dark-skinned Congolese man who is also in custody with them.
